Today in class Shae and I created a screen cast using the chrome extension screencastify.
Just click the link and see the screencast we created!
We created a video that shows how to use the website Unsplash and it has instructions on how to download an image to your computer.
This can be a super useful tool as a teacher if you are creating instructions on how to access or use different services for projects. Perhaps the class is online and you need to upload an instructional video to explain to students how to complete a task.
I believe this is a great way for students to learn and a method to use in a flipped learning classroom. Especially during COVID I feel that I would have benefitted from this tremendously because you are still learning and you can see your instructors face, which would help during a lockdown when you can only see the people in your house. As well, I would have enjoyed this because it’s better than just reading a boring paper and not having anything fun or engaging.
I really enjoyed learning how to use this tool and found it to be quite useful.
In class, we also practiced how to make stop motion videos for our in-situ day at one of the local elementary schools. We made ours in a group about a plant growing!
I think this is a great way for a student to showcase their creativity and learning. Working in groups allows them to collaborate with their peers and learn teamwork.
I have a lot of fun making this and can’t wait to help students create their own stop motion videos, and I want to incorporate this into my lessons/projects one day.
